EXEMPT STATUS:
Hourly – Non-Exempt

POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to set up plastic injection molds. Our facility has a wide range of machine types and sizes, as well as varying auxiliary equipment including robotics, conveyors, thermolators, etc. This position requires you to work with these different types of machinery during the setup of the mold.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up molds in injection molding presses
• Works with manual and fully electronic control panels
• Sets up and programs auxiliary equipment
• Organizes and sets up workstations in manufacturing areas
• Works with supervision on setup productivity improvement projects
• Performs general housekeeping duties to keep your work area and the company neat and organized
• Setup Tool and maintain required documentation according to work order / traveler
• Work closely with inspection and perform documented inspection on all parts that are running in the work centers when required
• Verify all required information on Attribute Data Collection Sheet is being recorded
• Work closely with Production Manager as required to minimize nonconforming parts being produced
• Assist with breaks when assigned
• Schedule jobs into machines assuring material availability and customer due dates are satisfied
• Assist with inspection of parts visually or using magnification light, microscopes, micrometers, gage pins, calipers or other equipment
• Document molding process and part weight per procedures
• Follow safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to lift 60 pounds on a consistent basis
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud working conditions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Must have GED – High School Diploma preferred, – Prefer experience with scientific molding principles

Related Experience:

• 1-year experience setup injection molding machines
• Ability to drive forklift as needed and obtain forklift license
